Long story short, and $2,500.00 later, I had TWO computers replaced. The computer error code kept indicating COPS. Expensive! The engine light and damned "wrench" light came on 200 miles after replacing the COPS. The "recommended" recall on the coil packs was not done. The cobwebs under the hood should've let me know the previous owner didn't drive her enough. They didn't check her out - of course she was only on the market less than 48-hrs. Finding the 93 octane ethanol-free gas can be a pain, though. But the parts situation does not sit well with me and was the reason I sold it. Certain parts are unavailable.ĭespite this, I sold it reluctantly and often get the urge to buy another one. In spite of an excellent after market company providing some parts, this car falls into the obsolete zone. They cleaned it, modified the fuel delivery hose and all was well again. It took them six weeks to find a replacement from a written off Lincoln LS as there were no longer fuel tanks available for the car.
Ford tried several times to make the engine trouble light go off until they discovered cracked fuel tank where it is hidden by the bodywork. It needed an new A/C assembly at 20,000 miles but the real issues began with poor performance due to fuel issues. It was a comfortable touring coupe with adequate performance and a penchant for eating plug ignition assemblies. The silver beauty was mine until a year ago and I put a mere 25,000 miles on it in that time. I purchased a 2005 with bells and whistles just as Ford were step-selling for $30,000 dollars them to clear them. No need to be apprehensive about Carneed, these guys are actual car enthusiasts and value their reputation, I have no doubt they will not disappoint. I am super happy with the whole process and the car, I got a killer deal on an amazing and rare vehicle. When the car arrived at my front door, it was pretty much exactly how they described and pictured it.
The car took 6 days to get here from IL to DE which is amazing considering the deal on the shipping they were able to get me, much less than what Bring-A-Trailer quoted me, and the same if not less than it would have cost me to fly out there and drive the car back, not to mention saving me the time of doing so. The customer service was absolutely stellar, Serhii kept in constant communication via email and phone every step of the way which was very comforting when buying a car remotely and you send a substantial amount of money somewhere without having the car in your position. I purchased the vehicle through their Bring-A-Trailer auction, where they provided a lot of information on the car along with nearly 200 detailed images of basically every nook and cranny including the undercarriage with the covers removed, and receipts of work they did to the vehicle. I purchased a rare BMW from them remotely, and it couldn’t have gone smoother.
